About the Role
The casual Sports Trader role requires individuals who are personable and well‑versed with sports trading. This role is responsible for monitoring market fluctuations across various sports and taking actionable trends. There is also an element of risk management and customer betting analysis involved.
This is a casual, on‑site role based at our Cremorne office, with weekend availability required.
Role Responsibilities
- Independently research, analyse and risk manage sports events.
- Consistently monitor markets/events for anomalies, trends, important bets and market fluctuations.
- Accept, reject or requote bets based on liabilities and related market exposure.
- Follow specific trading rules and adhere to Responsible Gambling guidelines.
- Monitor, analyse and evaluate customer betting patterns, trends and customer states.
- Provide customer ratings and apply limits when required.
- Evaluate internal software, system performance, trading and service processes.
- Provide recommendations, feedback and KPI reports to management.
- Manually create and result markets while monitoring website content and product.
- Assist customer service during busy periods including live chat, phone queries, issue escalation and ad‑hoc support.
Desired Experience & Skills
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt accordingly.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Awareness of the broader gambling market and specific betting markets and previous trading experience.
- Strong statistical knowledge of sports, with player‑specific expertise.
- Strong math skills, with the ability to calculate probabilities in short periods of time.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure and process important decisions in a matter of seconds.
