David Lawrence
Director of Sport UK
As a strategic lead in football, FA tutor and mentor, and Academic within the field of sport, to become a member of staff for this organisation would be something I would hold truly dear, and would approach with professionalism, absolute dedication, drive and passion in order to achieve success.   Since completing my undergraduate degree in Sport from the University of Birmingham, the majority of my experiences related to suitability for this position have taken place at West Bromwich Albion FC. I began my time there in 2006, and over the years have held positions of Community Coach, Sport Coordinator, Development Officer, RTC Technical Director, General Manager, disability coordinator, and more recently, Head of Sport.   Every facet of sporting delivery and development is within my remit and management in this role, such as international football development, basketball and cricket strategy, HR, line management, culture improvement, staff recruitment and retention, and since March, embedding a robust CPD programme across the entire organisation.   An advantage of working for this company has been the adherence to branding guidelines, and respecting the importance of representing the global brand, and improving the overall visuality of the club globally.   I am proud to have developed many skills which can be transferred to this role.   These include shaping a multi-disciplinary team, developing a CPD programme for 75+ staff, working within a budget, time management, mentorship, measuring impact, IT and keynote proficiency, outstanding line management, developing partnerships and networks, and achieving KPI’s within the strategic vision of my role.   My 4-year tenure in WBA Academy as YDP coach allowed me to explore pedagogical cases, coach the person as well as the player, and develop my own coaching identity.   The club philosophy of coaching and playing were embedded in me early on, and I feel comfortable in not only articulating what this philosophy looks like, but have also developed several coaching philosophies since, more recently in my role as Head of Football for University of Wolverhampton.   I became proficient in PMA and understood the Club’s requirements to meet EPPP.   All of this was within a backdrop of delivering high quality sessions to some of the most talented players locally.   Since moving on from this experience, the last five years of department leadership has provided me with essential experiences, qualifications and learnings around how to get the best from a multi-disciplinary team.   Coaching staff, apprentices, HR staff, development officers, basketball legends and cricket partners all encompass a cohort for which I have been able to embed a culture and work ethic within a disciplined structure.   Clear vision and creation of a realistic, clarified strategic framework has combined with valued partnerships with local NGB’s and other stakeholders to hold a national reputation for outstanding people and projects. Connecting vision to shaping an MDT approach has come to fruition recently as my role and influence with WBA Women FC has seen us grow in number of teams, an improved player pathway, sports science and psychology staff recruitment, and creating a Board of trustees to improve governance.   As much as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at WBA, this job is one where I feel I can sharpen my skills, find new challenge, but also impact a larger scale programme within an institute of real history and tradition in the sporting world.     The idea of integrating a multi-disciplinary team excites me.   To develop and grow people to achieve their objectives and make them feel inspired as we reach our strategic goals.   As an FA coach mentor, I have been able to hone my skills of developing rapport, supporting a coach journey, being a sounding board, being critical, and shaping a plan to improve.   This has been complemented within my MSc in Sport Coaching, where some topics I have covered involved advanced pedagogies, digital technology in Sport Coaching, player development, and contemporary issues in sport coaching.   One of my more outstanding pieces of work was around talent identification and development.   This got my interest around the subject area, so I have undertaken more research in what other sports and countries do on terms of talent ID.   This research would be vital for this role, and I’d love to develop my knowledge in this area even more.   I am excited to complete this degree in September 2021 and am keen to share my learnings from this course in this role, not least my dissertation focus around using reflective practice.   From a personal perspective, I have three clarified core values of pride, humility and relentless endeavour.   Should I be considered for this role, these values will be evident in all aspects of the recruitment process, and deployment. I am dedicated to learning and self-improvement and take CPD extremely seriously.   My MSc degree is testament to this. I am also beginning an ILM Management course in September.   On completion of this I shall look again at what CPD can get me closer to reaching my goals.   Formal qualifications will also be aligned to a robust programme which also includes reading, mentorship, and detailed networking.

rugby player
I have never really believed in the effect of these few lines. I am more than just adjectives and skills and I don't think I can be summarised in just one page. Therefore, what I want to make sure before starting with my presentation, is that you know I will always offer  honesty and dependability , in any possible situation. I have a genuine passion for the Sport world and, in particular, its economic implications; be they the financial impact that sponsors and broadcasting rights have, or the effect of media interaction on fans and enthusiasts. I have a strong professional background, but I feel a change is needed at this stage of my life. This is why I decided to follow my passion, attending a Sport Management Master Degree last year, which I obtained at the end of September 2017. I strongly believe that being involved in a Sport-related environment is what I need, and it is where I could perform at my best. I am a charismatic and engaging team-player, energetic and innovative in my approach to achieving goals with benefits to the whole group, not just myself. My career as a rugby player helped me to develop the ability to remain calm in high pressure situations and to be a quick but logical thinker, together with a strong sense of belonging and how to behave in a team, while the most important thing that I learnt from my work experience is that getting things done is extremely important, but enthusiasm and being pro-active make the difference. I consider myself as a practical self-starter, who is not afraid to accept new challenges and get fully involved in a 360° working experience. I am eager to put in practice the first-class analytical and quantitative tools that the academic studies brought me. Furthermore, my learning-by-doing approach makes me able to work hard to pick things up quickly. I love working with other people, especially when they have different backgrounds; I like to think that everyone has a different story to tell. Indeed, I appreciate international contexts and learning foreign languages, which I believe to be useful competences in an international market, such as Sports and Entertainment. I am at your disposal for any further information about my candidacy, Thank you for your time and consideration, Gianluca Andreatta

exercise physiology
Please accept this letter as my formal application to your organization.  My confidence in my application is based off my clinical experiences as an athletic trainer and doctoral degree in exercise science (exercise physiology).  This dual credential has given me a unique perspective and the ability to reach across to medical practioners and sports science experts as well.  My athletic training background and educational experience has endured my ability to reach coaches and athletes alike with a prospective that each can understand and potentially apply. My closest employment to this proposed position was my employment as the Coordinator of Medical Systems for the San Antonio Spurs.  My administrative experience as an NBA team medical coordinator, head athletic trainers for US Olympic teams and NCAA institution, football athletic trainer at a Big 10, Big 12 and Pac 10 university have prepared me for the challenges of your job position.  My research program currently involves the investigation of sport supplements and ergogenic aids on overtraining markers tied to the NCAA Policy on drug testing.  Serving as Medical Coordinator for the San Antonio Spurs organization provided a unique opportunity to integrate my background in Sports Medicine with my exercise physiology education.  The experience of working along side the three USATF Olympic Teams and multiple World Teams have broadened my reach and relationship to international scientists and national governing bodies.   My interests and expertise are broad and range from athletic training/sports science with specialization in manual therapy; to anatomy and kinesiology; to exercise sports physiology, my doctoral area of specialization.  I have extensive knowledge of 3D Motion Capture (Qualysis and DARI), GPS tracking systems (CataPult, StatsVu, Imotial, etc) particularly as the second CataPult customer outside Australia starting in 2010, database workload systems (Edge10, Apollo, etc.) and body mapping (Fusionetics, P3, FMS, etc.).   I brought these technologies to the San Antonio Spurs along with biological systems bringing the team forward from a first round play-off loser to a world championship in only 4 years of my employment.  Additionally, I held the position of medical coordinator and head athletic trainer for USA Track and Field (USATF) national teams.  I have included a copy of my curriculum vitae as well as happy to provide professional list of references that have agreed to serve as professional references on my behalf upon request.  I am excited about the possible employment with your organization, as I am seeking a new professional challenge at this point in my career.  I look forward to further discussions about this employment opportunity.  Feel free to contact me by telephone at 512-393-9503 or by email at jransone@huskers.com.   Sincerely yours, Jack Ransone, PhD, ATC, FACSM Professor, Director, Nebraska Athletic Performance Laboratory

Andrew Carrano
mental skills coach
I have recently completed my Masters Degree in Sport Psychology at Roehampton University. Here I enhanced my skills in concepts such as imagery, self-talk, relaxation, profiling and interviewing. It has enabled me to develop an understanding of how to help athletes use these psychological principles to achieve optimal mental health and improve their performance. Additionally, my university projects have allowed to gain a deeper knowledge in team cohesion, collective efficacy and leadership, vital to achieving team success. I currently hold a Level Two coaching badge and will be completing my UEFA B qualification in the near future. Coaching a range of ages at various levels, including at Watford Community Trust, has taught me to organize and tailor training schedules to greater effect, building upon my experience gained when coaching at school team level, advising on tactics and providing post-match critical analysis. These skills I believe to be transferable into business. Currently, I am working at Fulham FC across ages of the youth academy as a mental skills coach. Parallel to this, I am completing my BPS stage 2 accreditation in January. My role at Fulham requires me to run various workshop, on and off the training pitch, on concepts such as self-control, motivation, attention etc. In addition to this I liaise with parents on how to support their child’s development at the club and what kind of questions and strategies they can help implement at home. Additionally, I attend multi-disciplinary meetings to gain more information on certain players and provide specific training. Part of my training to become a sport psychologist is to build relationships and gain trust in one to one situations. This allows for more open discussions with athletes and enables me to develop and structure a more unique intervention. Although my role at Fulham is to offer mental skills coaching, a big part of the role is to support athlete development away from football. By supporting them through education and various parts of life, athletes can continue to progress as people outside of their sport. Liaising with parents, teachers and various educational institutions has given me great knowledge in helping athletes develop future educational and employment plans beyond sport, which I believe I can transfer to the given role. https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrew-carrano-3879b6102/ Thank you for considering this application, Andrew Carrano

Baden Cashmore
physiotherapist
To Whom It May Concern: As my CV shows, I have over 11 years experience as a physiotherapist, with my last 18 months working in professional sport.  In addition to this I have over 8 years experience working in football, in particular at an academy level, with my dissertation at MSc level being based on elite academy aged footballers performance testing. In my most recent role as lead physiotherapist of professional sailing team Soft Bank Team Japan, I was in charge for overseeing the rehabilitation of all injured athletes.  I also worked in unison with strength and conditioning staff to create bespoke injury prevention protocols for each of the sailors.   Injury prevention and the adolescent performer are key areas of interest for myself.  I have constructed a number of injury prevention programs for footballers but also other adolescent performers, in sports including, swimming, cricket, golf and athletics.  Though injury programs may be transient across all age groups, my understanding of child and adolescent development through the Long Term Athletic Development ethos, means I have created bespoke injury programs addressing performers maturation rather than chronological age.   I am confident that I can bring a high level of physiotherapy and injury prevention to multiple different sporting set ups.  With my previous experience and expertise, I believe I can become a valuable member of a performance team. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I covered the 2013 FIFA Confederation Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in loco, which required to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As Deputy Editor at the Training & Quality sector I was responsible for training and managing the performance of 20 young talented journalists, helping them to achieve individual and departmental goals. Furthermore, following the completion of Masters, I was hired to develop a new sponsorship concept and related sales deck to attract additional investment for the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL). Alongside delivering a structured long-term plan targeting potential new sponsors, I reviewed and assessed the SPFL's current brand management actions with the aim of improving its brand equity and identity as well as enhancing its image amongst stakeholders. At the same time, by reviewing existing sponsorship contracts and activations strategies from the sport and entertainment industries, I was able to identify new commercial assets and recommend sponsorship strategies targeting different audiences. The experience I have gained throughout my career, aligned with my educational background, helped me improve my skills in analysing different sporting economic scenarios to support business decision-making. Having to balance my academic life, extra-curricular activities, and work has also helped me enhance my time management skills. Besides, having worked and studied abroad has presented me with a strong capability to adapt to multicultural environments. Through these experiences, I have also developed my organisational and communication skills along with extensive cultural insight and diligence. In conclusion, with my professional skills and academic qualifications, I am convinced I could contribute effectively to any sport organization on-going efforts in overcoming new challenges across all business fields.

Chris Flanighan
coaching personal development
I have worked in a variety of different jobs and have gained valuable experience from all the jobs I have taken in the past and I have been able to use all of this experience in my day to day life and in my coaching. At the moment I am currently a student at Newcastle college studying sports coaching and science I am now in my second year of my degree and I am awaiting on my results and I am hoping to go into my third year and then onto my PGCE and then become a teacher, I have undertaken many course along the way to help me on my own personal development. I have completed my level one and level two rugby coaching qualification and also my first aid qualification along with a child protection and safe guarding course, rugby ready, and scrum factory. Through doing all of these course I have managed to now go on and have my own under 12s team at the rugby club were I play, I started off with only five boys and with my self being head coach and a team of two assistant coaches and a team manager I have managed to go from five lads to twenty players in six month of a mixture of girls and boys who come to training on a regular basis. Along with having my own under twelves team I have had to keep an eye on my coaches and help with their development by allowing them to take training sessions and guiding them to what the under twelves need, it has been a huge challenge to accomplish this but I have enjoyed every minute and I have loved the challenge and to be able to accomplish the challenge at the highest possible standard. Wallsend rugby club have recently asked me to go into a local school to get more children playing rugby in the area and to try to establish a link between the school and the club this was only supposed to be a four week placement but the school has asked me to stay on until the end of the summer this is a voluntary position and I do not get paid for any of this but it allows me to put all my coaching theory into practice and this has allowed me to develop my own coaching philosophy. Over the years I have had to work as a team and on my own I enjoy both as working with a team allows you develop good communication skills and the opportunity to pick other people minds and ideas to develop my own ideas that I could either use in my day to day life or in my coaching sessions, however working on my own has allowed me to gain valuable experience of organising myself and organising my own coaching sessions and my own CPD (coaching personal development).   I have attached a CV and hope to hear back from you. Kind regards
HC
Hollie Charles
Physiotherapist
I have worked within the medical department at Southampton Football Club Academy for the past two seasons, full-time, on a sandwich year, in the 2015/16 season and upon returning to university, I continued part-time during the 2016/17 season. I worked with elite players from the age of 7 to 23. This gave me experience in dealing with a wide range of sporting injuries and musculoskeletal conditions, including a number of adolescent and growth related conditions. I am aware of the special needs of football players and have developed many individualised rehabilitation programs for a range of football and growth-related injuries. I have learnt the importance of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and how each department must work together to provide the best possible standard of medical care, this includes keeping up to date notes on the online PMA system but also keeping a detailed record of academy injuries to assess for any trends. During my full-time season, the club underwent its EPPP audit and managed to maintain its Category 1 status. In the run up to this, I was involved in staff meetings, planning the various aspects which would be assessed and gained an understanding of what the experience involved. In addition to working in a professional environment, I also hold the position of Sports Therapist for the University of Chichester Men’s Football First Team. Working with this team has improved my confidence as I am often the only person with medical knowledge and have limited equipment when injuries do occur. It also meant I often am the first point of call 24/7 when injuries occurred, even if they had physiotherapists with outside teams. I often led pre-habilitation sessions with the academy players and this is a process I bought back to university, along with pre-activation before training and games. Although, as you see I am only graduating this year, I believe that my experience proves I am hard working and address your position requirements. I have a sound knowledge around both football-related injuries, which affect both younger and older players, and how to provide a high standard of rehabilitation for these conditions.
