Evangelos Andrikos
Performance Analyst & Scouter Athens, Greece
I have graduated INSA – Institute of Sports Analysis in 2020. During my studies I was Head Performance Analyst for Athinaikos Handball Club Men’s Team providing full team’s performance analysis and scouting opponents. I have also collaborated briefly with Thiella Rafinas Football Club Academy recording games for K16 and K14. Continuing and during the 2020/2021 season as a head performance analyst I have worked as a direct external partner with AEK H.C. coach Dimitrios Dimitroulias for the European Cup. At the end of the season AEK H.C. won the European Cup trophy, my biggest achievement so far as a performance and scout opponents’ analyst. Performance analysis is the process of assessing performance in a sport to develop an understanding of actions that can inform decision-making, optimize performance and support coaches and players in their journey towards optimal results. In many team sports this would consist on tactical assessment, movement analysis, video and statistical databasing and modeling and coach and player data presentations. Also, vital contribution to success is to scout and recognize opponent’s patterns.
Scott Ruscoe
Football Coach/Manager Oswestry, UK
Since leaving school as a 16 year old, my profession has been as a football player. I have played for Aston Villa, Stoke City, Port Vale, Chester City and finished my playing career in Wales with The New Saints FC where I was the record appearance holder domestically and in European competition. Some of my footballing highlights have been playing against Liverpool in the Champions league, and Manchester City in the Europa league and then going on to win as a manager in Europe. As a player I won 18 domestic trophies and followed that up by winning 4 as a manager. I have now left the football club after a 19 year association. During my time as a player I became engrossed in the tactical side of the game and started to gain my coaching qualifications. I’m now qualified up to Pro licence level and became a coach educator with the football association of Wales where I really enjoyed coaching and inspiring coaches to take their first steps.  The transition from playing into coaching was seamless, my time in the evenings taken up with coaching in the academy and during the day after training, coaching the under 19s programme. I soon became Head of youth development and retired from playing. This gave me the chance to run the clubs academy. This gave me time and experience in developing players, several stepping up and making first team players, dealing with budgets and mentoring coaches whilst re- writing the coaching syllabus for the club. I progressed into a full time role as assistant manager where I became number 2 at the club and developed my knowledge, taking sessions, scouting opposition and helping sign players. A very productive time where the club won lots of trophies and also won 27 games in a row breaking the guinness world record of 27 consecutive wins. My strengths are working with players on an individual basis, designing training sessions in conjunction with the manager and opposition analysis. I would also take control of set plays for and against looking at how we could freshen things up constantly. My final role with the football club gave me the chance to lead the team as first team manager. I spent just short of 4 years in the role where I won 4 domestic trophies and progressed in the Champions league and Europa league which I’m proud of against teams with a much bigger budget than we had to work with. It was a proud moment coaching players in the first team that had come right the way through the academy. My strengths are my man management, getting the best out of players, scouting players and opposition analysis. Attention to detail is paramount and an obsession to be the best drives me every day.   Gaining the pro licence has allowed me to gain confidence in my coaching and I will continue to grow and develop and aim to work at the highest level I possibly can.
David Lawrence
Director of Sport UK
As a strategic lead in football, FA tutor and mentor, and Academic within the field of sport, to become a member of staff for this organisation would be something I would hold truly dear, and would approach with professionalism, absolute dedication, drive and passion in order to achieve success.   Since completing my undergraduate degree in Sport from the University of Birmingham, the majority of my experiences related to suitability for this position have taken place at West Bromwich Albion FC. I began my time there in 2006, and over the years have held positions of Community Coach, Sport Coordinator, Development Officer, RTC Technical Director, General Manager, disability coordinator, and more recently, Head of Sport.   Every facet of sporting delivery and development is within my remit and management in this role, such as international football development, basketball and cricket strategy, HR, line management, culture improvement, staff recruitment and retention, and since March, embedding a robust CPD programme across the entire organisation.   An advantage of working for this company has been the adherence to branding guidelines, and respecting the importance of representing the global brand, and improving the overall visuality of the club globally.   I am proud to have developed many skills which can be transferred to this role.   These include shaping a multi-disciplinary team, developing a CPD programme for 75+ staff, working within a budget, time management, mentorship, measuring impact, IT and keynote proficiency, outstanding line management, developing partnerships and networks, and achieving KPI’s within the strategic vision of my role.   My 4-year tenure in WBA Academy as YDP coach allowed me to explore pedagogical cases, coach the person as well as the player, and develop my own coaching identity.   The club philosophy of coaching and playing were embedded in me early on, and I feel comfortable in not only articulating what this philosophy looks like, but have also developed several coaching philosophies since, more recently in my role as Head of Football for University of Wolverhampton.   I became proficient in PMA and understood the Club’s requirements to meet EPPP.   All of this was within a backdrop of delivering high quality sessions to some of the most talented players locally.   Since moving on from this experience, the last five years of department leadership has provided me with essential experiences, qualifications and learnings around how to get the best from a multi-disciplinary team.   Coaching staff, apprentices, HR staff, development officers, basketball legends and cricket partners all encompass a cohort for which I have been able to embed a culture and work ethic within a disciplined structure.   Clear vision and creation of a realistic, clarified strategic framework has combined with valued partnerships with local NGB’s and other stakeholders to hold a national reputation for outstanding people and projects. Connecting vision to shaping an MDT approach has come to fruition recently as my role and influence with WBA Women FC has seen us grow in number of teams, an improved player pathway, sports science and psychology staff recruitment, and creating a Board of trustees to improve governance.   As much as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at WBA, this job is one where I feel I can sharpen my skills, find new challenge, but also impact a larger scale programme within an institute of real history and tradition in the sporting world.     The idea of integrating a multi-disciplinary team excites me.   To develop and grow people to achieve their objectives and make them feel inspired as we reach our strategic goals.   As an FA coach mentor, I have been able to hone my skills of developing rapport, supporting a coach journey, being a sounding board, being critical, and shaping a plan to improve.   This has been complemented within my MSc in Sport Coaching, where some topics I have covered involved advanced pedagogies, digital technology in Sport Coaching, player development, and contemporary issues in sport coaching.   One of my more outstanding pieces of work was around talent identification and development.   This got my interest around the subject area, so I have undertaken more research in what other sports and countries do on terms of talent ID.   This research would be vital for this role, and I’d love to develop my knowledge in this area even more.   I am excited to complete this degree in September 2021 and am keen to share my learnings from this course in this role, not least my dissertation focus around using reflective practice.   From a personal perspective, I have three clarified core values of pride, humility and relentless endeavour.   Should I be considered for this role, these values will be evident in all aspects of the recruitment process, and deployment. I am dedicated to learning and self-improvement and take CPD extremely seriously.   My MSc degree is testament to this. I am also beginning an ILM Management course in September.   On completion of this I shall look again at what CPD can get me closer to reaching my goals.   Formal qualifications will also be aligned to a robust programme which also includes reading, mentorship, and detailed networking.

Patrick Jessel
Sports management London, UK
I have over 11 years of leadership experience in the sports industry, planning and implementing a wide range of successful events and projects.  I am a sociable team player and have developed strong partnerships with GB athletes, corporate businesses, volunteers, and national governing bodies to deliver initiatives in support of the Olympic legacy.  My roles in delivering these events have varied: from initiating event ideas, to managing the necessary administration such as putting together athletes’ schedules, managing databases and the financial budgets. I am also a successful fundraiser, having raised around £30,000 for athletes and schools over a 2 year period.      Since starting at GB Active 5 years ago, I have been organising multiple bootcamps.  These regular training sessions have offered opportunities for GB athletes to bring their skills and inspiration to the community.  Alongside the bootcamps, I have delivered more bespoke events, such as arranging kayaking experiences for the public with a world class kayaker, or bringing some inspiring sporting stories and athlete-delivered activities to over 100 people at a city bank’s wellbeing day.  Before GB Active, I arranged workshops across the country bringing over 20 GB athletes to around 300 schools.  I managed the logistical details of these events, mapping out travel and accommodation, and capturing data to efficiently analyse the feedback in order to adapt our services.  I also liaised with government public health programmes, as Change For life, to ensure our messaging was aligned.   I currently volunteer with the England Touch Rugby Association, remotely coordinating sports development officers in the South East region of the UK. This has involved communicating closely with the six voluntary development officers on a regular basis to plan, assess and adapt strategic outlines on developing touch rugby in schools. During my time so far, I have extended the programme from secondary schools to primary schools by developing operational and training programmes for rugby workshops, competitions and events.  Over my career I have accumulated considerable insight into the workings of the sports industry and have developed detailed experience in the administrative functions of running successful events. I am really keen to apply these skills to a new role, supporting and being part of a sociable team on delivering projects, programmes or events.  I attach my resume for your consideration. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the role further and how my skills can help.

Lead coach Byron Bay NSW, Australia
I would describe myself as a hard working, ambitious and open-minded person and coach. I am very passionate about coaching and love improving individuals and teams. I would say my main strengths as a coach come from my elite playing background, my thirst for knowledge, learning something new every day and the ability to create training sessions that are interesting, enjoyable, dynamic, are all things I professionally carry out every day whilst coaching.  I believe a coach should have a positive effect on young people, coaches really do impact the lives of our future generations. They teach them vital life skills, which extend way beyond the principles and techniques of their sport. I believe sport is a vehicle to teach life skills, which enable athletes to become meaningful contributors to society. My season with Newport County AFC has given me the opportunity to deliver best practice strength and conditioning in both the gym and on field environments, to first team injured and non-injured players.
