I have over 11 years of leadership experience in the sports industry, planning and implementing a wide range of successful events and projects. I am a sociable team player and have developed strong partnerships with GB athletes, corporate businesses, volunteers, and national governing bodies to deliver initiatives in support of the Olympic legacy. My roles in delivering these events have varied: from initiating event ideas, to managing the necessary administration such as putting together athletes’ schedules, managing databases and the financial budgets. I am also a successful fundraiser, having raised around £30,000 for athletes and schools over a 2 year period.
Since starting at GB Active 5 years ago, I have been organising multiple bootcamps. These regular training sessions have offered opportunities for GB athletes to bring their skills and inspiration to the community. Alongside the bootcamps, I have delivered more bespoke events, such as arranging kayaking experiences for the public with a world class kayaker, or bringing some inspiring sporting stories and athlete-delivered activities to over 100 people at a city bank’s wellbeing day. Before GB Active, I arranged workshops across the country bringing over 20 GB athletes to around 300 schools. I managed the logistical details of these events, mapping out travel and accommodation, and capturing data to efficiently analyse the feedback in order to adapt our services. I also liaised with government public health programmes, as Change For life, to ensure our messaging was aligned.
I currently volunteer with the England Touch Rugby Association, remotely coordinating sports development officers in the South East region of the UK. This has involved communicating closely with the six voluntary development officers on a regular basis to plan, assess and adapt strategic outlines on developing touch rugby in schools. During my time so far, I have extended the programme from secondary schools to primary schools by developing operational and training programmes for rugby workshops, competitions and events.
Over my career I have accumulated considerable insight into the workings of the sports industry and have developed detailed experience in the administrative functions of running successful events. I am really keen to apply these skills to a new role, supporting and being part of a sociable team on delivering projects, programmes or events.
I attach my resume for your consideration. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the role further and how my skills can help.
