Following a successful season with League Two team Newport County AFC and past experience with Ruby union Pro 14 teams Scarlets and Ospreys RFC, accompanied with a masters degree in Strength and Conditioning and Hons in Sports Science.
My season with Newport County AFC has given me the opportunity to deliver best practice strength and conditioning in both the gym and on field environments, to first team injured and non-injured players. This practice has contributed to decreasing injury rates alongside increasing athletic performance through understanding of scientific principles and physiological adaptations, monitored through training load and the acute chronic ratio.
Further experience at Swim Wales has led me to further develop my coaching proficiency, implementing effective programming and coaching of sessions with youth athletes and enhancing the performance of national and regional athletes. In addition, I assist the head strength coach in delivering sessions for current Olympic and Commonwealth athletes.
These roles have involved statistical recording of athletes’ physiological aspects, which has led to competence in Microsoft Excel. I have also gained experience in the set up and use of specialist sports analysis equipment and its accompanying software, including force platforms, heart rate monitors and altitude chambers.
Within all Jobs I have developed strong working relationships with individuals at all levels in the organisations. These relationships allowed for a culture of shared ideas, aiding the development of individual athletes and the progression of the teams.
With current experience and education I believe I am in a favourable position to relocate and apply my expertise to the position of strength and Conditioning coach.
Thank you for taking the time to analyse and consider my application and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
