Operations Team Overview The Citi Open Operations Team will be working together for approximately five weeks from July 13-Aug 14 to ensure the success of the ATP 500/WTA International level tournament occurring Aug 1-9th, 2020 at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington, DC. This team is responsible for operating the Citi Open site by working with various vendors, managing the tennis courts prior and during competition, setting up and breaking down the tournament, ensuring the safety of the patrons on site, responding to any issues that may arise and more. Operations staff will participate in pre-tournament site and stadium preparations as well as post-tournament tear-down, which may require heavy lifting in the hot sun. · Members of the Operations Team will be asked to do tasks that are outside of their responsibilities outlined below, and many aspects of this role can be considered “all hands on deck” over the course of the tournament. Please keep this in mind as you decide which position may be right for you. All roles will be required to submit a document upon completion of their responsibilities outlining any recommendations for the 2021 tournament. We require that all persons applying for this position have their own reliable transportation to and from the facility. As a part of the Operations Team, you will be an integral part of the set up for one of the world’s premiere tennis events. Depending on your role, you will also work throughout the event on various daily tasks, and help clean up and restore the site to its original form. The Citi Open can provide excellence experience for anyone looking to get into sports management and events. We work hard, but have a lot of fun along the way! Expectations: Team members will average 50-70 hours per week during pre-event and weather may require additional hours during the event. The weekends at the beginning and end of the tournament are mandatory (Aug 1-2 and Aug 8-9), as well as the weekend of July 25-26. Dates Time Period : July 13-August 14 Job Description Status : Temporary Full-Time Daily Rate : Team members will be compensated within 14 days from the conclusion of the event and paid on a daily rate to be discussed during the interview. Rates will vary slightly by position and experience. All staff members will be required to clock in and out on site each day. Logistics Team The Logistics Team is responsible for the overall management and upkeep of the Citi Open site. This includes inventory of supplies and materials, distribution and placement of products to the site, working with various vendors on site, and overall ensuring that the site is ready for volunteers, media, staff and spectators each day of competition. This team will be on site beginning July 13th and oversee breakdown through August 14th. Compound Associate (July 13-Aug 14) It may be possible for this position to start earlier than noted above, please let us know if this is something you are interested in. Reporting to and supporting the Compound Manager, this person will be responsible for maintaining inventory and upkeep of a variety of areas including operational areas, storage and supplies. This person must be comfortable driving a car for various supply and/or gas trips. Along with the Compound Manager, this person will support the following: Setting up and managing the flow of the Operations Trailer Setting up and maintain tools and equipment Distributing and collecting keys to the property to appropriate staff and vendors Cataloging all incoming equipment (walkie-talkies, gators, forklifts, blowers, etc.) and distributing appropriately Managing fuel supply and make sure all equipment is topped off (Gators, Forklifts, Blowers) Manage storage and inventory of supplies on site including storage truck and other storage areas on and off the property Creating and managing a list of supplies needed to be purchased on a daily basis; working with the Operations Leads they will determine purchase strategy.
