Aspire2Be Academy of Sport is an elite level academic and performance academy within the Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) sectors. Our academic programme is balanced alongside all of our elite performance sports (Male Football, Female Football, Basketball, Golf and Athlete Development) delivered within our high performance environment at the world-class facilities of the University of Warwick.
We are TASS accredited institution, boasting 100% academic pass achievement and progression rates within the Aspire2Be Academy of Sport, including 9 student-athletes who have achieved international sporting honours.

Roles & Responsibilities.
The role includes, but is not limited to:
Planning, preparing and delivering Strength and Conditioning sessions to all student-athletes within each of our academy performance sport programmes.
Implementing individual and group Strength & Conditioning programmes using appropriate periodised plans, modalities, loading and injury minimisation strategies across the academy.
Designing and execute physical testing, monitoring and review with all student-athletes' in-line with our "elite philosophy".
Effectively implementing a Sport Science programme for all student-athletes, to contribute to enhanced individual and team development.
Leading on the Athlete Development Programme, supporting elite level young athletes to develop within a high-performance environment.
Building relationships with external clubs, coaches and stakeholders to monitor external athlete performance.
Maximising external relationships to support with the Talent Identification and successive recruitment of high-level athletes into our full-time academic and performance programme(s).
Leading on athlete injury prevention, rehabilitation and recovery across all performance sports.
Providing recovery sessions to student-athletes, where effective to do so.
Creating effective resources to educate student-athletes, with the purpose of contributing to high performance levels individually, and collectively.
Contributing to our world-class learning experience by support student-athletes in their understanding of lifestyle choices and in educating them on the role of sport science.
Working with all TASS dual-career student-athletes on programme to support with personal lifestyle, academic and performance information, advice and guidance.
Creating a high-energy environment to optimise student-athlete engagement.
Contributing to individual student-athlete Personal Development Plan's (PDPs) and Personal Aspiration Plans (PAPs).
Offering advice and guidance, where suitably qualified, to student-athletes on specific Sport Science subject areas.
Upholding our highest standards in every moment.

Skills, Qualifications and Attitude.
This includes but is not limited to:
Degree level qualification in Sport Science (or similar)
Knowledge of LTAD
Passion for working within a high performance academic and sport environment
An attitude to go ‘above and beyond’
A 'willingness to learn'
Strong human skills
Safeguarding and DBS compliant
Masters level qualification in Sport Science (or similar)
Sports Therapy Qualification (or similar)
Nutritional Advisor (or similar)
UKSCA Accredited (or similar)
Experience of working with elite athletes

Staff personal development and performance management
Internal Enhanced DBS check
The Athlete Development Coach requires a ‘can do’ attitude. This is an hourly-paid performance driven role for a minimum of 10 hours per week, throughout the academic year. The Athlete Development Coach will be required to support with all Talent ID events out of academic term-time. The successful candidate will receive extensive professional development in-line with our performance management processes.
