Job Description

Reporting to and supporting the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach will play a large part in developing the Warrington Wolves Women’s Super League team, by creating the correct environment for player growth and optimum performance.

Warrington Wolves RLFC is an elite professional rugby league football club based in Warrington, in the north west region of England. Our men’s and women’s teams both compete in the Betfred Super League. The women’s team play home games at the Victoria Park Asics Stadium.

We are seeking an individual who values and respects others, and who can collaborate and build strong relationships, both internally and externally.

You must be willing to show initiative, take ownership and responsibility for your actions, and consistently deliver to high standards.

Due to the nature of the business, and the role, flexibility is required towards working hours. There is a requirement to work training sessions and fixtures, including some evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. You should also be able to work across multiple sites, as required.

• Work with the Head Coach with planning for training sessions, including the creation of training plans
• Delivery at all training sessions, as part of the coaching team
• Assist in providing players with meaningful feedback regarding performance in training and games
• Assist with team selection as required
• Support the Head Coach in providing video feedback to players individually and in groups
• Attend coaches and staff meetings as required by the Head Coach.

• Proactive in supporting the Head Coach and other team officials in their roles
• Effective communication skills
• Well planned and organised
• Minimum RFL – Level 2 Coaching Qualification
• Experience of coaching a performance-based rugby program is desirable
• Understand the characteristics and needs of the players that you will coach in relation to their stage of development

This is a part-time voluntary position, for a fixed term of 12 months.
Hours of work are two evenings per week (Tuesday and Friday) plus matchdays (usually Sunday).
Training sessions are subject to change, determined by the Head Coach in advance.
Training sessions for the 2022 season commence on Tuesday 16th November 2021.
