The Digital Innovation Specialist will be responsible for directing the organization in the advancement of our digital channels by designing, developing and maintaining websites and mobile apps. With the goal of identifying increases revenue opportunities and creating a better product for our fans. This individual will identify business challenges & revenue growth opportunities and solve them by using technology. This individual will implement comprehensive strategies to increase engagement across our digital touchpoints, including collaborating with external vendors. The candidate should have the ability to leverage data-driven decision making with creative license to help grow our digital properties. Specific understanding of Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics is preferred.
  • Develop, design and manage websites and mobile applications for all organizational sites. Ensuring sites function properly for different browsers, operating systems, and devices.  Redesign existing content (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, etc.) with a mobile-first mindset 
  • Provide guidance and direction to department leads on technological and web solutions to their business goals and objectives Including working directly with business leaders such as Ticket Sales and Sponsorship to increase revenue.  
  • Proactively seek out, vet and implement new technologies to innovate throughout the company. 
  • Partner with PR and content teams to ensure all owned digital properties are updated frequently with relevant content including LA Kings.com/LA Kings Mobile App, Social Accounts 
  • Partner with NHL digital staff to ideate and develop evolving digital properties (will be the contact of the league for digital/social stuff).  
  • Develop SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy and tactics in partnership with our content team  
  • Oversee all page building, site structure and organization creating, developing and updating pages on LAKings.com, LAKingsInsider.com, LA Kings Mobile App and additional owned LA Kings properties 
  • Manage (from a technical perspective) scheduling web and email ad campaigns to support LA Kings marketing, sponsorship, ticketing and community efforts. Ensure that the ad networks on the site are managed properly for quality control.  
  • Assist in email design strategy, development, and distribution to external parties such as STMs, Partners  
  • Support in pulling data reports and evaluate analytics for all LA Kings web and app properties including digital and social analytics  
The Digital Innovation Specialist must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities:
  • Self-starter and ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines 
  • Naturally curious and have a passion to ideate and advance innovation of digital products 
  • Must be detail-oriented and have good organization skills 
  • Working knowledge of Google and Adobe Analytics, Google Tag Manager 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc) 
  • BA/BS Degree (4-year) 
  • 4-6 years of related work experience  
  • Must have Wordpress and CMS management experience 
  • Previous experience reporting and presenting digital analytics (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.) 
  • Adobe CC – Photoshop, Illustrator expertise
