Leicester Tigers: Leicester Tigers is the foremost rugby union club in the country with silverware both in domestic and European competitions. Based at Mattioli Woods Welford Road, the largest designated club rugby stadium in England, and the most iconic home of the sport in this country, Leicester Tigers remains the most successful club in the history of a thriving, competitive and successful league structure. Tigers+, an exciting new initiative, will have a singular goal to improve participation of rugby in Leicestershire in year 1 and then further afield as the scheme grows. The aim will be to get more high schools playing rugby competitively, and to support local clubs in increasing the quantity and quality of their player and volunteer base. With participation in rugby declining locally and less than 30% of Leicestershire High Schools playing the game as part of their curriculum we have introduced Tigers+ as our flagship community programme to get more people enjoying the game that we love.
The Role: We are excited to announce that an opportunity has opened up for to join our Community team as a Tigers+ Lead Rugby Development Officer. The successful candidate will take a lead in the development and delivery of the Tigers+ Schools, Clubs and Supporters Programme. Working as an integral part of the Club’s Community & Supporter Engagement plan, they will be responsible for developing a wide reaching programme that engages local schools and Rugby Clubs to deliver a Tigers+ series of leagues, festivals and events that bring more players and supporters to the game. Developing pathways to participation through the passion and long term commitment to the Tigers Brand. The Tigers+ Lead Rugby Development Officer will be required to support senior management in the administration, monitoring and evaluation of the initiative, whilst reporting on its impact. Reporting directly to the Head of Community & Global Partnerships, the successful candidate will be working in a unique and exciting environment. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Working with the Head of Community & Global Partnerships to develop the ongoing strategy and focus for Tigers+ targeted delivery; • Reflecting at all times the KPIs and specific outcomes of the programme; • Taking a leading role in the Tigers+ team, ensuring the best possible outcome from the resources dedicated to the programme, whilst being the key communication link with all departments and partners; • Establishing a constructive relationship with the local CB, LRS, Schools, Teachers, Students and Junior Rugby Clubs, creating new partnerships and pathways whilst developing new delivery opportunities; • Gathering accurate Tigers+ delivery data, case studies/impact stories and identifying promotional opportunities, whilst ensuring all information is collated and reported to Senior Management; • Coaching on Tigers+ events whilst connecting all work with the wider Tigers+ initiative; developing and delivering an exciting and engaging rugby centered programme; • Linking Tigers+ delivery to Match Days, Camps, Festivals and Events assisting in, leading organising, administering, refereeing and coaching as part of the wider Community team; • Coaching on and assist in preparing, promoting and running the Tigers’ Rugby Camps programme on a domestic and international basis; • Helping to plan, develop, deliver and administer various Community and Leicester Tigers’ Foundation Programmes; • Carrying out any other duties and tasks required by management, which are within the post-holder’s capabilities.

Essential: Level 2 RFU Coaching Qualification. The ability to obtain an Enhanced RFU DBS Certificate. Able to work flexible and at times, unsociable hours. A full and valid UK driving licence, with access to own vehicle. Eligible to work in the UK. Desirable: Strong presentation Skills. Able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of RFU rules. Good communicator on and off the pitch. Sound numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
