As part of the Management Team, the Aquatics Manager will actively contribute to the achievement of WLS business objectives, organisational culture, leadership and direction, and foster cooperation across all departments.
The Aquatics Manager is responsible for the management of the swim school (WynSwim), the school’s swimming programs, and the safety of all patrons in the aquatic environment. This role is also responsible for ensuring compliance within relevant regulatory frameworks and industry guidelines.
Reporting to the General Manager Aquatic Facilities, the Aquatics Manager’s key responsibilities will be:
Oversee the Centre Care Manager and Lifeguard teams ensuring standards against the GSPO are adhered to at all times
Planning, development and implementation of our Learn to Swim (WynSwim) and School programs
Development of new aquatic programs to drive participation and revenue
Ensure our aquatic facilities maintain their Platinum Pool status
Training as required to ensure that standards of a Platinum Pool are met
Review and adherence to the Lifeguard Deployment Plan
Ensure our patrons are professionally supervised at all times
Maintain a working knowledge of all current industry trends and expectations and implement them at our aquatic facilities
Stakeholder management of our key aquatic user groups
Manage pool and lane allocations and required communications
Leadership of staff to achieve targets and key performance measurements
Desired Skills and Experience:
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve goals and objectives
Proven experience in a senior management position within the aquatics and recreation industry
Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver aquatic education programs and services
Outstanding business planning and development skills
Ability to work collaboratively with the General Manager on the ongoing development of the business
Sound knowledge of budget processes and techniques with the ability to writes budgets and reforecast
Ability to engage in high-level problem solving and complaint resolution
