Location: SW England. Swindon and any other locations that are required to provide sports science support to first team players
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week plus any additional hours required in order to fulfil the duties of the role as stipulated by the first team manager. This will include evening and weekend work.

• To be responsible for the physical conditioning, injury prevention, rehabilitation and physical development of Swindon Town FC’s first team squad • Provide extensive sports science and S&C support to first team players
• Ability to plan, design and deliver an effective physical development program to elite first team players on a group and individual basis • Ability to use Catapults GPS and heart rate tracking technologies in order to provide detailed feedback to coaches and players. • Experience at working in high pressure environments and being able to work effectively. • Ability to effectively monitor players physical capacity. • Ability to meet deadlines and be pro-active. • Strong knowledge of the hydration and nutrition requirements of elite footballers (implementing necessary strategies) • Detailed knowledge of the fatigue monitoring and assessment tools required to ensure the readiness of elite footballers (implementing necessary strategies) • Ability to comply with all relevant regulatory bodies and legislation to maintain professional conduct at all times. • Create and co-ordinate a CPD programme for the sports science and medical team in the first team and academy. • Be organised, punctual and professional in all aspects of the role. • Be confident in their decision-making abilities and communicating with players and fellow staff.
Candidate knowledge requirements:
• Under-graduate and Post-graduate qualification in Sports and Exercise Science/Strength & Conditioning or another relevant field. • At least 3-5 years’ post graduate experience working in elite sport preferably within professional football • Strength and Conditioning Certification e. g, NSCA, ASCA, UKSCA or ability to obtain within 6 months • BASES accreditation or ability to obtain within 6 months • Valid Full UK driving license • Valid enhanced DBS check
• FA Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAIF) or higher • Equality and Diversity training education • FA coaching badges (Level 2 and above)
