Basketball Australia (BA) is seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the position of - Athlete Services Coordinator - BA Centre of Excellence.
This exciting opportunity is a full-time role and is located at the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence (CoE), on the campus of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra.
Role purpose –
- Coordinate organisational logistics in the conduct of a fully residential elite youth high performance program
- Provide support to Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence and NBA Global Academy (NBAGA) athletes aged 16-19 years to assist in their engagement in a Daily Training Environment (DTE)
- Provide support to the Basketball Centre of Excellence and NBGA coaches in the delivery of the Daily Training Environment
Roles and responsibilities –
- Coordinate the travel and organisational logistics for athlete education, health and wellbeing activities
- Liaise with the Australian Institute of Sport and Basketball Australia High Performance Management on the residential requirements for the program athletes
- Coordinate athlete travel (domestic) as required
- Maintain ongoing communication to parents/carers and other stakeholders
- Provide support to the program coaches in the provision of on-court sessions, including equipment, venues and technology requirements
- Coordinate the administration and recording keeping of athlete information, documentation, and uniforming needs
- Provide administrative support as required to BA COE and NBAGA coaches
- Liaise with external service providers regarding athlete specific activities and requirements

Required skills and qualifications –
- Tertiary qualifications in sports administration or a related field
- Unrestricted driver’s licence (light rigid vehicle license is desirable)
- Working with Children clearance (or state equivalent)
- Functional knowledge and skills in the Microsoft 365 suite
Desirable traits and experience –
- Experience working in a high-performance sports environment
- High level empathy for athletes in the elite emerging pathway
- Understanding of the requirements of the daily training environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to be pro-active in a dynamic environment
