Tennis NZ are hiring for a new role in Club Capability.  If you enjoy getting out and about, developing strong relationship, facilitating workshops and meetings, and creating change through collaboration then we want to hear from you.

You’ll be the glue between tennis clubs, local tennis organisations, community and sport organisations, and the different departments of Tennis NZ.  You’ll make it easy for clubs to access the things that they need to help them create great participant experiences, to operate efficiently, and to have great community connections.

This role will provide a good balance of collaboration and independence.  We want to find someone who can identify a challenge and act on it in a timely manner.  You’ll love discovering how things currently are, and how they can improve.  You’ll hunt out great examples of best practice and enjoy sharing others’ successes far and wide.  You’ll love running with an idea and seeing it through from concept to delivery.  Most of all, you have a personality that thrives on interaction with others and can facilitate productive, empowering, progressive change

About the Position

Purpose

The Club Support Manager is responsible for implementing and delivering relevant support to NZ tennis clubs.  This role creates, shares, develops and progresses local and national services to help tennis clubs deliver quality experiences for all types of participant.  This role is instrumental in making sure clubs of all sizes across NZ have access to tangible products, helpful resources, up to date industry advice, and best practice examples.  The support provided to clubs will be shaped by sources such as the tennis in NZ strategic plan, insights and evaluations gathered from within and outside the sector, and local needs.  The role will work very closely with local region and association staff as well as directly with tennis clubs, participants and aspirant participants

Main Responsibilities

Delivery and Support:

  • Plan and facilitate hui’s, workshops and conferences (online and in person) to deliver outcomes to support club growth, quality, sustainability and participant experience
  • Understand needs through research including Voice of Participant survey, club feedback and casual market research
  • Liaise with Regional Sports Trust to coordinate a calendar for local workshop and support opportunities 
  • Develop and maintain the online Club Toolkit 
  • Maintain up to date records of club committees and administrators

National Services:

  • Effectively promote and encourage uptake of national products such as:
    • ClubSpark and Book a Court
    • Tennis Hot Shots, Tennis Xpress, Cardio Tennis
    • Love Tennis 
    • Coach and Volunteer upskilling and training
  • National Programme development:
    • Maintain and develop Tennis Hot Shots, Tennis Xpress and Cardio Tennis programme resources and website content
    • Deliver participant opportunities such as Hot Shots Kids on Court at the ASB Classic

Programmes and Pilots

  • Identify existing programmes/initiatives/ways of operating that are successful and scalable
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration between clubs and other stakeholders on projects such as:
    • Shared services
    • Participant experience
    • Social competitions
    • Community connections including schools and Kura

Personal Specifications

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Club support/club capability experience or a strong customer service/experience background
  • Workshop facilitation both online and in person
  • Change management
  • Launching/piloting of initiatives and programmes
  • Project management/collaboration with different stakeholders to achieve a shared outcome
  • Breadth of communication skills in a variety of formats – from formal written reports, to friendly social media posts, EDM’s, press releases etc
  • Website content management
  • Experienced in using Microsoft office programmes

Essential Requirements
