About Carlton Baths Community Centre 

The Carlton Baths Community Centre is an important community facility, managed by YMCA Victoria in partnership with the City of Melbourne.

Carlton Baths was officially opened on 11 February 1916, with its original purpose being a place for the community to bathe. Over the years the site has been redeveloped into a sporting and recreational facility. The centre has just reopened after a $15M redevelopment.

The centre is designed to provide the community with a range of recreational, social, cultural and educational experiences. Carlton Baths is located at 240 Rathdowne St, Carlton and includes the following facilities.

  • One Court Stadium
  • Health Club
  • Group Fitness Room
  • Cycle Studio
  • Multi-Purpose Rooms
  • 25 Metre Outdoor Heated Pool
  • 10 Metre Outdoor Heated Toddler Pool

Key Elements of the Role 

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for delivering dry facility programs such as Adult Stadium Sports Competitions, junior sport programs and oversee facility bookings at Carlton Baths.  

The Program Coordinator will embed themselves within the local communities at Carlton and North Melbourne to develop partnerships to deliver much-needed programs to improve their physical and mental well-being.

There will also be the opportunity to work on numerous new and developing projects to engage the local community across the City of Melbourne cluster.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience and knowledge in the management of stadium sports competitions and children’s sports to maximise participation and facility use
  • Ability to create and maintain positive relationships across the organisation and with relevant external parties and community organisations

Qualifications 

Mandatory Pre-Requisite Qualifications

  • HLTFA301B First Aid or equivalent
  • Experience and knowledge in the management of stadium sports and children’s sport programs
  • Experience working with community organisations

Other Required Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification or experience in Sport Management
