The Stadium has a long-established history and has enjoyed the reputation as one of the most successful indoor sports centres in outer eastern suburbs.

The philosophy of stadium is to provide a healthy, professionally managed and maintained environment where groups of friends, families and workmates can enjoy playing social sport all year round. It currently administrates 4 sports, namely,

  • Indoor Cricket
  • Indoor Soccer
  • Indoor Netball
  • Indoor Beach Volleyball

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Sports Manager to lead the team to deliver exceptional customer experience on a full-time fixed term basis. Responsible for the management of this fantastic stadium, the team and our local community, you will oversee and be responsible for management of all sports competitions, administration, event and customer services.

Note. Regular night-shift work is a mandatory requirement of the role.

About you

Our ideal candidate will first and foremost be passionate about the Sports & Recreation industry and ready for a challenge. The role will require a highly energetic approach to both staff engagement, safety and customer service, so you will possess a passion and have athletic or coaching experience for sports (cricket, beach volleyball, netball and soccer) with a strong and organised work ethic. The stadium is fast paced and demanding, so you will be calm under pressure and will be able to demonstrate a strong aptitude to respond quickly to changing priorities and to manage a range of issues.

Above all else, you will need to take the initiative to maximise the venue utilisation through sporting competitions, hire, events, functions and any other usage compatible with the venue. You will also possess a fun outgoing friendly rapport with the stadium’s valued customer base.

The main roles and responsibilities will be, but not limited to the following:

  • Ensure all Policies & Procedures and Health Guidelines are followed accordingly
  • Promote the growth of sports competition that will achieve maximum growth of participation
  • Manage the sports competitions on sports nights (with occasionally umpire games)
  • Develop strong and healthy relationships with customers
  • Act as chief warden in an emergency situation evacuating the centre if required
  • Perform First Aid to the level at which you are qualified
  • Be innovative and active in looking for ways to improve the overall sports performance
  • Train staff as required to ensure that knowledge and capability are at the required levels to enable staff to carry out their work and achieve their objectives.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant sports management experience
  • Experienced in using sports software to do game fixtures and ladders
  • Highly developed communication skills with a flair for positive influencing and negotiating win-win outcomes
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation

Note: due to COVID restriction this role will start with work remotely then full time on site once indoor sports industry is permitted to reopen.
