What is the role?
We have a new exciting opportunity to recruit a Lead Scientist to provide a first class Sports Science and Strength & Conditioning service to all Girls & Women’s players. Assist the Head of Sports Science in the delivery of a sports science department that is viewed as a centre of excellence in footballer development.

What are we looking for?
To thrive in this role, we are looking for someone who has previous experience and great knowledge of working in athlete development. The ideal candidate will have the ability to track, monitor and report female specific health & wellness, and have the interpersonal skills to build relationships with players and stakeholders.

You must have the ability to lead and promote the Girls & Women’s programme with strong organisation and people management skills, with the ability to teach and develop, not only players, but the staff working around you.

The competencies which are required include:

Essential Experience:
Knowledge and experience of working within long-term athletic development programmes.
Experience of practical coaching in gym and field-based sessions.
Experience of working within an interdisciplinary sports science and sports medicine team.
Previous work with medical staff in the rehab process of long term injuries

Desirable Experience:
Experience of working with elite female athletes.
Experience of working within an Academy environment.

Essential Qualifications (including certifications):
BSc (Hons.) Sports Science or similar or equivalent in experience.
UKSCA ASCC or NSCA CSCS or ability to attain within 6 months.

Desirable Qualifications (including certifications):
MSc in Sports Science or similar or equivalent in experience.
BASES accreditation.
ISAK accreditation.

Essential Skills:
Proficient in the collection and use of GPS derived physical metrics.
Ability to build effective relationships with players and key stakeholders
Ability to track, monitor and report female specific health & wellness
Ability to design and lead on RTP

Desirable Skills:
Experience of working within higher performance sport.
Experience in recruiting, managing and developing others.
Financial management and competence.
