The National Academy for Social Prescribing is working with partners to develop new regional development programmes to help local voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) groups provide innovative support for communities most impacted by COVID. This work will help social prescribing link workers to connect people most impacted by COVID, to community support.
As part of this programme, an exciting new role has been made possible through funding from Sport England, Energise Me, Active Surrey and Active Oxfordshire, with support from the other Active Partnerships in the South East region. The new Regional Physical Activity & Health Lead will work across the South East region to help influence local commissioning strategies for social prescribing, advocating for the role of physical activity in the achievement of positive health and wellbeing outcomes for people. They will also seek to support communities most impacted by COVID-19, by facilitating connections between social prescribers and the community physical activity offer, direct mentoring and support around the strategic engagement with commissioners.
We’re looking for a strategic thinker with excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Someone who can advocate for the inclusion of physical activity in social prescribing pathways and support communities most affected by COVID-19.
Join our team and help us make a difference by changing lives through physical activity and sport.
