Austin FC joined Major League Soccer in January 2019 as the league’s 27th member club and will officially begin play in MLS in 2021 in a new, state-of-the-art 20,500-seat soccer stadium and public park scheduled to open during Austin FC’s inaugural season. 
 
Austin FC is actively seeking a professional and reliable Director of Stadium Operations to assist with oversight of Austin FC’s stadium and to assist with the creation of best-practice procedures which lead to expert maintenance (and preventative maintenance) of a fully operational venue for all events.  In this role, you will provide operational expertise and management of Austin FC’s 20,500+ seat stadium and be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing all activities and personnel engaged in creating a first-class experience for all events held at the stadium. This position will also lead all parking operations and train staff as necessary.

You Will:
  • Create a hiring/onboarding plan process for Stadium Operations staff including: interviewing, hiring, and training of the Operations team including full time position of Stadium Operations Manager and other stadium operation positions; and
  • Serve as a quality control authority as it pertains to set event set up to ensure everything is set, safe, and ready prior to allowing guests into stadium; and
  • Participate in the development and administration of the facility’s operations and capital budgets; forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments as necessary; and
  • Serve as primary contact with broadcast partners to coordinate booth locations, camera locations, host sets, connections, credentials, park and power; and 
  • Coordinate and communicate First Team (home and away) needs related to event day requests including but not limited to locker room standardization, booth and space allocation, meals during delays, etc.; and
  • Develop and update comprehensive management reports and manuals (i.e. Operations Manual, Annual Preventative Maintenance Plan, Annual Facility Report, Fire Code Rules & Regulations, etc.); and
  • Conduct a variety of organizational and operational studies; recommend modifications to programs, policies, and procedures as needed; and
  • Work with the Director of Facilities to maintain an up-to-date facility register; and
  • Create an Operations Manual and work with the Director of Safety and Security to integrate an Emergency Preparedness and Protective Action Plan; and 
  • Develop policy and procedures for event days as it pertains to staff entry and check-in, prohibited items, credentialing, etc.; and
  • Oversee parking operations for all stadium events, including the management of strategic offsite parking alliances.  Work closely with and develop partnerships with local area businesses, mobile app providers, and TNC’s; and
  • Responsible for all event permitting including but not limited to: Special Events, Public Assembly, Pyro/Flame Effect, Sound Impact, Outdoor Music Venue, etc.; and
  • Maintain signage inventory (both digital and static) for Austin FC Stadium as it pertains to content, delivery method, install/removal dates, dimensions, installation method, production material; and
  • Accountable for organizing any required documentation for various local/regional jurisdictions (e.g. collecting information for event bidding or appropriately managing Texas Event Fund requirements); and 
  • Facilitate a cadence of meeting (whether quarterly, semi-annually, etc.) to create a Good Neighbors Policy and forum for two-sided communication with local business owners, residents, property owners, and tenants; and
  • Ensure adherence to MLS rules and regulations as it pertains to event operations, match day experience, safety and security, and all other requests from the League; and
  • Work with entire Stadium Operations team to track and maintain records of each event and project through the year to compile into a detailed Annual Summary.
 
You Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years relevant experience 
  • Experience within the sports and/or entertainment industry
  • Experience with TV and radio broadcast a plus
  • English language proficiency is essential and Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets, and analyzing costs
  • Working knowledge of Fire, Life, Safety, EEOC, FLSA, OSHA, and ADA rules and regulations
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, stated, and local laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, knowledge of current technologies and commitment to remain up to date with industry best practices
