SEMH teaching assistant required - alternative provision - Blackburn - ASAP
We are currently working with an alternative educational provision in Blackburn to recruit a sports coach to join them as soon as possible on a full time basis for the rest of the academic year.
This role will be challenging at times but will also be extremely rewarding.
It is essential that the successful candidate is able to complete the role in its entirety as the continuity with the children will be priceless and you will see the progress they make through having reliable people supporting them.
Within this environment you will be tasked with the following roles and responsibilities:
Provide opportunities to progress academically, socially and emotionally Leading by example as a role model Leading sports and activity sessions Have an understanding of individuals personalities and needs Offer guidance and mentoring Have an understanding/interest in sports Provide a safe environment to learn Deal with any challenging or disruptive behaviour Offer advice and support Develop self-confidence, positive self-image and independence Fully compliant in safeguarding policies and procedures
The environment of this SEMH School is unlike that of a mainstream school as it is much more nurturing, pastoral, student focused and personal, giving you the chance to really have an impact and create a relationship with the students.
Requirements for this role include:
Experience working with children in any professional setting
Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with online update service or be willing to process a new application.
Provide two professional child related references.
