Sports Coach - Amersham , Buckinghamshire - January Start - Long-term to permanent basis - £75 to £95 per day depending on experience

Here at Tradewind we are working with an exceptional school who are looking to appoint a sports coach to support students with behavioural difficulties and deliver sports/other extra-curricular activities

Main Role:

  • Provide opportunities to progress academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Leading by example as a role model
  • Leading sports and activity sessions
  • Have an understanding of individuals personalities and needs
  • Offer guidance and mentoring
  • Have an understanding/interest in sports
  • Provide a safe environment to learn
  • Deal with any challenging or disruptive behaviour
  • Offer advice and support
  • Develop self-confidence, positive self-image, and independence
  • Fully compliant in safeguarding policies and procedures

You Must:

  • Experience working with students that have special needs is preferential
  • Be happy to be involved with sports activities and indoor games
  • Be flexible and versatile
  • Have a passion to work with students that have come from a tough background
  • Experience in an SEN school would be advantageous; however, the school provides training and courses regardless of what stage your career is at

About the School - Sports Coach

This large specialist SEN school that focuses on children who have a range of different learning difficulties are looking to appoint a sports coach/Behaviour Mentor who will work in small classes, supporting students on a one-to-one basis. You will be dealing with students that have SEMH, ASD and ADHD. The students in the class have complex needs and can be challenging, but highly rewarding to work with. These students react well to calm and dedicated personalities who can help them succeed by finding out the way they learn and then helping them to understand the lesson accordingly
