About the Internship:
The Traverse City Pit Spitters are a collegiate wooden bat baseball team. A member of the 22-team Northwoods League, located in Traverse City, MI.
The Pit Spitters internship program is designed to provide an extensive hands-on career development training and job shadow program for those navigating the selection of appropriate careers. We provide internship positions that are meaningful and compatible with education and aspirations.
The internship program offers a monthly stipend, tickets, free concession food, YMCA membership, and many more perks!
To learn all aspects of the Ticket Sales Department of The Traverse City Pit Spitters under the mentorship of the Pit Spitters Front Office. Intern will also gain knowledge in other departments while working under the mentorship of those departmental managers.
To gain knowledge and understanding of the Ticket Sales Department and how the success of this program directly impacts the success of the Pit Spitters organization.
To learn about season and group ticket sales practices, as it relates to each individual ticket sales consultant.
To train and gain exposure to the Northwoods League ticketing system.
To learn about general ticket sales practices and box office management working alongside the full-time ticket personnel as it relates to the Traverse City Pit Spitters.
To learn about event and facility management by training with the Pit Spitters front office to oversee the game day operations of hospitality areas.
Interact and partner with other departments in the organization to fully understand how they function in relation to the Ticket Sales Department as well as the entire organization.
Interns will also assist with various aspects of operating our ballpark, assisting and gaining exposure to facility events like concerts, high school and college baseball games and pulling tarp, etc.
Must be a College or University Junior or Senior within at least 3 semesters of graduation.
Must be pursuing a degree in a related field of study.
Must need an internship for academic credit.
Due to the nature of the internship, it is preferred that no coursework is taken while participating in internship. But not required.
Must be available to participate full-time, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Non-event days are generally M-F 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Event days, the day generally begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends after the event.
Must be available no later than April 15th until approximately early September.
