Job Description

Applications are now open for Sport Events Officers to assist in delivering the 2022/23 Aquatic Sport Summer Sports Calendar.   

  • Work on the beach 
  • Support LSV members/athletes with the role out of new radio frequency identification (RFID) bands and use of LSV’s Sport App 
  • Casual weekend carnival work from November 2022 – March 2023 

We are seeking enthusiastic people with a passion for sports competitor service, administration, and event management to join the LSV team in the delivery of our summer sports calendar.  

Who are we?  

Life Saving Victoria is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisation and is committed to its mission to prevent aquatic related death and injury across all Victorian communities. LSV is a recognised agency of Emergency Management Victoria and provides emergency response services across the state through its vast network of lifesaving clubs, lifeguards, marine and aerial rescue services. LSV is a Registered Training Organisation and a charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. 

The role 

An immediate opportunity exists for enthusiastic individuals to join the Aquatic Sports team to assist with the role out of new RFID bands to our lifesaving sports competitors this summer. These are volunteer facing roles with a focus on customer service and support.  You will provide information and advice on the beach and support with the administration of the bands.  You will also provide support with the set up and pack down of events, and delivery of a range of administration, customer service and support services during the busy summer carnival period from November to March. 

This position would ideally suit a recent graduate, current student or a sports or events administrator with previous experience and interest in a sports and/or volunteer based organisation, possesses a friendly 'can-do' attitude, who doesn't mind 'rolling-up their sleeves' 

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work on several tasks and events simultaneously. You will be an extremely organised person with a talent for troubleshooting and problem solving.  

You will be a people person with the ability to deal with high pressure and able to demonstrate a passion for the community sector and volunteering.  You will have a flexible, can-do attitude and be available to work weekends over the summer period.   

You will have excellent customer service skills, with some experience in the support of event day administration, logistics and support highly desirable.
