Rugby World Cup 2021 is coming to Aotearoa, New Zealand! This is a fantastic opportunity to super-charge women’s rugby. With the tournament kicking off on 8 October 2022 in Auckland and Whangārei, your energy is needed to deliver a world class event that will leave a sustainable legacy for future generations. We are seeking a Media Operations Coordinator to join our passionate, hardworking team to deliver this incredible event!

The role of the Media Operations Coordinator is critical to ensure RWC 2021 provides an exceptional reporting environment for local and international media covering the tournament and to enable the tournament to reach new and existing rugby fans across the globe.

You will be responsible for delivering streamlined and effective media operations throughout the tournament, working closely with the Communications Manager and World Rugby Communications staff to develop and implement the media operations plan incorporating activity in the lead up to and during match days.

This includes media accreditation, media operations volunteer workforce, media facilities management in venue, media backdrops & branding, media operations running order, media space layout & flow, delivery of content to accredited media in coordination with broadcast & social media teams and liaison with stakeholders including venue staff,

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience in media operations at a large-scale sports or entertainment event
  • Previous experience in media communications/PR role within a sports organisation, team or sports event is preferable
  • Experience managing a volunteer workforce at an event is beneficial
  • Experience liaising with suppliers, stakeholders and/or third parties on event delivery
