Job Description

Location: Staplewood Training Ground, Southampton
Hours: Part Time, including some evenings, weekends and attendance to home/away matches
Contract Type: Permanent
Criminal Record Check: DBS Enhanced with Childs Barred List

What will you be doing?

You’ll be contributing to a progressive learning environment in the foundation phase, which will positively impact on players development and their potential to achieve on and off the pitch.

You’ll be working in conjunction with the Foundation Phase Coach to provide a training and games programme experience for the players, as well as develop the identified Foundation Phase age group in line with the SFC Player Development Curriculum and session design principles.

Specific duties include:
• Support to select an appropriate team to play in each match.
• Prepare team and individual player reports for review meetings.
• Ensure individual player development is integrated and tracked within team sessions.
• Identify, deliver and track relevant experiences for the identified Foundation Phase age group in line with elite development principles.
• Support regular formal and informal player development meetings, following both Club direction and Premier League audit rules.
• Be committed to personal development and CPD.
• Ensure the relationship with children and adults at risk is appropriate and language, behavior and demeanour is suitable. The Company will expect you to undertake training to ensure an understanding of best practice in relation to children and/or adults at risk.

You will be based at Staplewood Training Ground located in Marchwood, Southampton. Just a 15-minute drive from the city centre and don’t worry there’s free parking. There will also be some travelling for away games and to visit our development centres.

What we are looking for

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• Experience of working with U9-U11 players withing a category one/international environment.
• Experience in an elite level football environment.
• Hold or working towards an up-to-date UEFA B licence and an AYA.
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
• Demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence.
• A positive energizer who demonstrates confidence and humility.
