Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ) to lead the newly established Healthy Women in Performance Sport programme. 

The programme is a unique initiative designed to support the health, wellbeing, and performance of elite female athletes in New Zealand.

The programme is tasked with facilitating:

  • the promotion and development of system wide awareness, knowledge and understanding of health, wellbeing, and performance support for women in high performance sport
  • the delivery of world class female specific health, wellbeing and performance support through the high performance pathways
  • the systematic delivery of women's sport specific education and information throughout the high performance sporting sector; and
  • the development of national and international collaboration to support technical delivery, research, and research dissemination.


This role is designed to ensure the development and implementation of a culturally relevant, comprehensive and sustainable strategy that supports the health, wellbeing and performance of elite female athletes in the New Zealand sporting environment. It will incorporate current HPSNZ initiatives relevant to women's health, wellbeing and performance in sport and build on 'Healthy Women in Sport: A Performance Advantage (WHISPA)' programme. 

Ideally this role will be based in Auckland but other HPSNZ hub locations may be considered. The successful candidate will have a background in leadership and/or project management, and a strong understanding of health, wellbeing, or performance related topics relevant to women in New Zealand sport.
