Job Description

Overall Objective:
• Provide pitch-side emergency first aid at training sessions and fixtures for schoolboy players, predominantly Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays. (U12-U18’s)
• Assist the Senior Physiotherapist with the assessment and management of injuries sustained across the schoolboy age groups (predominantly senior squad).
• Opportunity to work in new state of the arm gym and clinic alongside the Head Physiotherapist and Strength and Conditioning.

Main Objectives
• Provide emergency pitch-side first aid overseen by Senior Physiotherapist to school teams on match days and afternoon training sessions as required.
• Maintain up to date & accurate medical records of assessments, treatments & rehabilitations in line with guidance set out by HCPC.
• Work alongside S+C, rehabilitation and rugby coaches.
• Liaise & work alongside the Senior Physiotherapist, coordinating medical care for schoolboy players as required.
• Assist with the schoolboy medical screening process as required.
• Be a full & active member of the medical and sports science team, contributing to team meetings & in house CPD events.
• Communicate effectively with the inter-disciplinary team.

Summary of Duties

• This role will involve liaising effectively with the medical and coaching teams; reporting all injuries to the Head of Rugby and Senior Physiotherapist.
• In service training will also be provided to aid the successful candidate’s personal and professional development.
• Flexible working to cover training and matches, this includes unsociable hours.
• This role will be based at the RGS High Wycombe, no travel is currently required.


• BSc/ MSc Physiotherapy/ Sports Therapy/ Sports Rehabilitation or working towards
• Candidates must be passionate about working in sport and looking to gain valuable experience working with elite and developing athletes.
• DBS (can be provided by the school)
• First Aid qualification
• Child safeguarding
• Indemnity Insurance


• Previous experience of working in a rugby environment
• Previous experience with adolescent athletes.
• Previous pitch side / trauma management experience.
• Pitch side qualification
