Job Description

Football NSW is the governing body for Football and Futsal in the Australian state of New South Wales, with the exception of the northern regions of NSW. Located in Glenwood, Sydney, Football NSW is a member of the national governing body, Football Australia (FA). 

With over 230,000 registered players, Football NSW is the largest member federation in Australia and the largest State Sporting Organisation. Football NSW governs 32 member-associations and runs several elite semi-professional competitions that are just below the top tier of professional football in Australia, the A-League.

ROLE PURPOSE

In collaboration with FNSW Football Associations, affiliated clubs, relevant agencies, and other stakeholders, the FNSW Football Legacy Plan Development Officer will assist the football community to access and engage with the suite of programs and services made available by the NSW Football Legacy Plan.

This is a 2 year fixed term contract.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Assist in the promotion and communication to relevant football stakeholders about opportunities available through the NSW Football Legacy Plan.
  2. Work directly with Football Associations and affiliated clubs to understand available programs and how they can be accessed in order to benefit local stakeholders.
  3. Identify infrastructure and participation projects that may be eligible for funding and connect the Association or club to the FNSW Legacy Grants Officer as appropriate.
  4. Assist the NSW Daughters & Dads administrator to promote the program within local communities and identify potential program locations and facilitators
  5. Identify eligible stakeholders and provide them with relevant information and connect them to the NSW Women in Football Scholarship Program (Players, Match Officials, Coaches and Club Officials)
  6. Identify eligible stakeholders and provide them with relevant information and connect them to the NSW Women’s Leadership Program (Board Members, Administrators and Committee Members)
  7. Assist in the identification of opportunities to capture content that will assist the promotion, awareness and success of the NSW Football Legacy Plan.
  8. Assist in the coordination and management of any FNSW Indigenous teams that compete at Football Australia’s National Indigenous Championships.
  9. Assist FNSW to deliver events related to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • An understanding and awareness of FNSW’s diverse communities and the associated barriers to participation in football. 
  • Relevant degree or tertiary qualification in sports development related field (e.g. Education, Sports Science etc) (Desirable).
  • Proven experience working in community sport or inclusion and diversity community projects or activities (Desirable).
  • Knowledge of the structure of football within FNSW.
  • Strong interest in football.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly written and presentation.
  • Proven and successful track record of engendering the support of volunteers.
  • High level computer skills including Microsoft Office, Organisation and time management; the ability to work to deadline.
  • Performing in accordance with the trademarks, code of conduct and expected behaviours of FNSW and NNSWF.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Flexible work hours may be required from time to time including night and weekend work
  • Working with Children Number for paid workers 
  • Commitment to FNSW values, behaviour's and culture 
  • Current driver’s license
  • Evidence of Vaccination

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATION:

2 years or proven experience in a relevant or similar role.
