Athletics SA is the peak State Sporting Organisation responsible for the administration, governance and development of athletics including recreational and elite pathways in track and field, cross country running, race walking and road running in South Australia.
Athletics SA and its sub-brand Running SA administers a large range of services for members and non-members, including development programs and the provision of upwards of 50 events annually ranging from local track and field competitions, to fun runs, to regular national and (in some cases) international events.
Athletics SA wish to appoint a Development Manager who will take the lead in administering its athlete development programs for track and field, road running, cross country, and race walking. This includes the coordination of the South Australian Target Talent Program (TTP), which is a junior performance and talent identification initiative, and the Emerging Athlete Program (EAP), designed to bridge the gap to SASI/NASS level involvement. An important part of the role includes working with Athletics SA clubs to ensure that they are sustainable. The Development Manager will also be responsible for the effective coordination of all Athletics SA squads and teams, whilst developing and implementing the organisation’s overall recruitment, retention and junior athlete development strategy.
