Aspire2Be Academy of Sport is an outstanding academic and sport performance academy within the Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) sectors. Operational Management Responsibilities
Manage all staff within the education pillar of the institution, including setting Objective Key Results (OKRs), conducting monthly one-to-one reviews, quarterly reviews, bi-annual and annual appraisal meetings
Undertake operational day-to-day management across all pillars within the institution for optimal efficiency, forward planning, risk mitigation and issue resolution in liaison with the Head of Performance & Talent ID
Prepare and lead on the planning and execution of all audits and inspections within the institution
Lead on the creation, development and implementation of institutional reports, plans, policies and procedures
Manage key stakeholder; external partner and supplier relationships
Track, monitor and record required documentation from both FE and HE student-athletes to ensure operational efficiency and achievement within both FE and HE programmes
Manage budgets across the institution, identifying key areas to optimise financial stability and efficiency
Uphold the responsibility as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and lead on the reporting and monitoring of all concerns raised through our internal platform
Work with our academic partners to ensure that all assessments of student-athletes are assessed effectively and to ensure that any additional learning needs are identified and supported throughout their programme of study
Offer an ‘open door’ encouraging staff to observe and improve through mentoring and coaching to ensure that staff have the support required to perform at their highest level
Set high expectations for your own performance and that of others around you, contributing to our culture
Undertake such other responsibilities to ensure optimal efficiency in the day-to-day running of the institution
Education Management Responsibilities
Maintain our ‘Outstanding’ status as an institution within our annual audits and inspections, aligned with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) to ensure that the quality of our Education is achieved and maintained
Actively promote continuous improvement and ensure compliance with the institutions Quality Assurance (QA) framework
Manage the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and Standard Verification (SV) procedures and preparation for external reviews within the department
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the education sector; qualification frameworks, subject specifications, assessment procedures and national initiatives
Act as a role model and assist the teaching and learning team as appropriate to ensure high standards, with the capability to step in and teach when required, setting an example of going ‘above and beyond’ when necessary
Manage and implement 'outstanding' levels of teaching, learning and assessment throughout the institution, for scheduled teaching, supporting learners to achieve their aspirational targets
Provide effective support and guidance in the preparation of learning materials; lesson plans, schemes of work and assessments to support high quality teaching and learning
Liaising with the Managing Director to be involved in the recruitment and selection of staff and their deployment to implement effective delivery of the curriculum
Undertake such other duties and responsibilities as appropriate within the educational pillar of the institution
Lead on the Opportunity pillar ensuring all student-athletes are inspired and supported through work experience; positive destinations and next steps
Maintain our high quality outcomes through positive destination and progression pathways for student-athletes across both FE and HE pathways
Support Education staff members to enhance outcomes for student-athletes with aspirational next steps upon programme completion
Talent ID Responsibilities
Work together with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure Talent ID and student-athlete recruitment targets are met, in-line with our KPIs
Sustain established, and building new relationships with key stakeholders within schools; external sport clubs and organisations across the local and wider region
Liaise with the Head of Performance & Talent ID to forecast and implement effective Talent ID and recruitment strategies
Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Responsibilities
Track, monitor and record key decisions that have been made within the institution at senior management level
Attend and report at monthly SLT meetings based on key decisions
Produce options and recommendations for continuous improvement to the Board of Governance

Head of Operations & Education requires a ‘can do’ attitude. This is a full-time performance driven role and the successful candidate will receive extensive professional development in-line with our performance management processes.
