Job Description

One of the most highly regarded event management organisers in Australia, we are responsible for delivering some of Australia's largest mass participation events. Our varied portfolio of events includes both owned and third-party event management:

  • Blackmores Sydney Running Festival (owned)
  • Real Insurance Sydney Harbour 10k & 5k (owned)
  • Janssen Bondi to Manly Ultra (third party)
  • World Athletics Cross Country Championships, Bathurst 2023 (third party)
  • Sydney World Pride - Pride March 2023 (third party)
  • One Door Wellness Walk (third party)
  • GIO Oz Day 10k (third party)
  • Coastal Ascent Trail Run (owned)

The Event Operations Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Project Management - manage project timelines, develop operational plans and support the wider Operational Team to deliver key milestones
  • Event Day Operations - manage the construction of the temporary venue overlay as per production schedule
  • Marketing and Sponsorship - support the marketing team in the development and delivery of all sponsor requirements at event venues
  • Stakeholder relations - consult with relevant stakeholders including landowners, government, sponsors, contractors, suppliers, charities, and volunteers
  • Resource Management - oversee venue workforce including venue crew and volunteers
  • Finance & Budgeting - Develop, manage and reconcile an event budget accurately and within scheduled timeframes, including cost-efficient strategies.

Essential Requirements

  • 5 years of operational event experience, preferably across large scale mass participant events
  • Experience in planning and developing operational documentation
  • Understanding of Event Work and Safety issues, and the ability to contribute to risk management planning
  • Demonstrated experience effectively liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders including government, sponsors, charities, suppliers, contractors, and volunteers

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience understanding and developing site/CAD plans, or a willingness to learn/obtain appropriate qualification
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing a large workforce on event days across multiple venues
  • Ability to complete manual tasks

  • Drivers Licence
