Job Description

The role is integral to the successful delivery of LYR’s Active Row & Life skills schools engagement programme. Working across several London Boroughs, and supporting the developing Active Row programmes in Leeds, Nottingham and Kent, the Life Skills lead will develop a strong partnership with State Secondary Schools. The role will also include working closely and build relationships with corporate partners, volunteers and funders and developing the Active Row Life Skills platform for young people to engage with. The role has a strong focus on developing the new Active Row Life skills platform, to support coaches and young people when understanding and developing their Life skills in rowing sessions , workshops and beyond.

Role Purpose
The Active Row programme aims to engage participants from a range of different backgrounds, introducing them to the sport of rowing and encouraging them to find their true self. The sessions are run within the schools and organisations but will also include sessions on water as participants become more invested in the programme.

The platform is made up of videos, from our corporate partners illustrating the key life skills and the impact of those in the working world.While in this role, you will consistently be working and focusing on your own development and experience as a programme lead within the world of life skills development, rowing and grassroots sports. While in this role, you will have the chance to shadow peers, have mentors within your team, and have support of your line manager and coach developer. Performance Standards
AR Life Skills Lead

‍- To organise, plan and support delivery of all aspects of Active Row’s Life Skills throughout all programmes

- To engage corporates, schools and young people to take part in the Active Row Life Skills Days

- To manage the Skills Builder framework and assessment for young people todeliver engaging rowing sessions to new and existing participants, building participation

- To manage and deliver Skills Builder training for coaching staff

- To develop strong relationships with each School, specifically PE Teachers, Heads of Department, Careers Officers, and the Senior Management Team in Partner Schools

- Collection of weekly data and regular surveys of young people within set timeframe to ensure impact measurement

- To create and produce Life Skills case studies to demonstrate the impact of the Life Skills days and ongoing Life Skills coaching

- To work with the LYR team to facilitate key events throughout the year

- Always presenting a positive image of London Youth Rowing and partners

- To represent the core values of London Youth Rowing

Managing the online AR Life Skills Platform

- To oversee, plan, develop and create video content for the AR Life Skills platform alongside

- To support our corporate partners in creating videos and content for the platform

- To market and monitor the use of the AR Life Skills platform encouraging programme participants to use and access the content

- Oversee the relationship between LYR and our corporate Life Skills partners, liaising and advising them on content creation and how they might engage with the young people we work withJob Information Pack LYR Life Skills Lead

Leading Life Skills Workshops

- To plan and deliver life skills workshops linked to physical activity and rowing

- Delivery of high-quality life skills workshops and days and good engagement with young people who may be at risk of dropping out of sport and physical activity

- Planning and preparing sessions for participants of various skill and ability

- To liaise with corporate volunteers, engaging and supporting volunteers to deliver workshops to young people

- Engaging participants in safe and fun life skills days and workshops

- Monitoring and recording all the necessary data for sessions that you are leading on or responsible for

- Evaluating and reporting on the progress of participants and sharing feedback with them directly as well as with the group leader and your managers

- Reporting any incidents, damage or safeguarding concerns using the correct channels

Person Specification

- Experience working in or running a programme focused on develop life skills , social mobility or employability for young people

- Experience in developing websites and/or other online tools to engage young people positively

- Experience of using a webflow website system

- Experience selling and marketing a programme, engaging corporate partners Abilities, skills, and knowledge

- Ability to make sensible decisions
