About the role: Dive into a new role at Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre
Would you enjoy being part of the inaugural Aquatic Programs Team launching the brand new Aquatic and Fitness Centre in the Sydney Hills in 2022? The Hills Shire Council is currently seeking experienced and suitably qualified Swim Squad Coaches (Casuals) who will conduct competitive swim training to enable the squad program to attain the vision to produce competitive swimmers. The new $55m fitness and aquatic centre is now under construction with opening expected in July 2022. The complex will include a 10-lane 50m outdoor Olympic-sized pool, additional 25m outdoor pool and two indoor learn to swim and leisure pools, along with a water play area, and a fully equipped fitness centre. The roles will commence prior to the complex opening, your focus will be conducting structured swim squad competitive programs as outlined by the Head Squad Coach. Duties include:
- Maintain daily squad plans and swim squad instruction of allocated competitive swimmers.
- Liaise with Head Squad Coach with implementing programs, training camps, target swim meets.
- Facilitate skill development of swimmers with a range skills to achieve performance outcomes.
- Attend identified competitions in competitive swim plan where squad swimmers are entered.
- Communicate with swimmers, parents to ensure they are fully informed of coaching programs, swimmer progress, swim meet calendar, training camps and other matters relating to squads.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Prior experience in a similar coaching role.
- Swim Coaching Accreditation.
- First Aid - (HLTAID003)
- Drivers Licence (Class C) - NSW
Position details:
Casual role, T861, Salary: From $32.64 to $35.28 per hour including casual loading + weekend penalty rates + Superannuation.
