T
his is a one-stop opportunity for a sports enthusiast, to become our next Sports Turf Trainee. This role is based from our North Shore depot and reports to the Team Manager, who is eager to share their valuable skills, knowledge and experience to develop the next Turf Trainee to their full potential. Previous experience is not essential and full training will be provided to the right candidate. This position includes committing to study for 39 months in order to complete a Sports Turf Apprenticeship (Sports Turf Level 3 and 4). The apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training, study through correspondence (outside of work hours) and block courses.
In this role you will learn all about:
- Preparation sports turf playing fields including cricket wickets, rugby grounds, soccer fields to international standards
- Irrigation system
- The different types of grass species, diseases and fertilises that can impact the performance of a game
- Construction of sportsfields
- Using state of the art, innovative machinery

Success factors:
- Have a passion for Sports Turf and an interest in turf maintenance and be willing to learn and commit to training
- A positive "can-do" attitude and great work is key
- Willingness to accept responsibility and ownership of jobs
- Have a minimum of a Restricted, Manual license.
- The desire to get the job done and work as part of a wider team
