Swim Safe Outdoor Water Instructors - GLL - Salary Up to £13.04 per hour (including annual leave) - Closing date 22 March 2020
GLL is looking for Swim Safe Instructors based at Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre in Windermere, Cumbria to help run water safety sessions for children aged 7-14 years. Swim Safe is a UK-wide programme, created in 2003 by Swim England and the RNLI to help children learn how to stay safe in and around open water before they might need to be rescued. As a Swim Safe Instructor, you'll lead each session using the teaching resources provided, for up to five sessions a day. Each session will have a maximum of three instructors, where you'll be responsible for a small group of children in the water. We're looking for outdoor water instructors who have experience of delivering personal survival and water safety sessions and hold a water based teaching / coaching qualification including Swim England Teacher Triathlon level 2 Coach Award and / or ISA level Surf Coach. If you have no formal qualification(s) but can show a strong understanding and experience of swimming in open water you'll be considered and provided with swim safe training. If successful, you'll attend a Swim Safe CPD training day at a location close to the Swim Safe site, this will consist of a classroom session, and an in-water practical session (wet suit can be supplied, dependent on size and availability).
