PAY RATES £10-£25 PER HOUR (BASED ON EXPERIENCE)

WORK DAYS MONDAY, TUESDAY, THURSDAY (2PM-4:30PM), WEDNESDAYS (TIMES VARY),
FRIDAY (5PM – 8PM)

The EDSV Academy is a full-time, pro-level training programme for both boys and girls, combined with education based at Oaklands College, Hertfordshire, who are current 1st & 2nd XI League Champions.

We are currently well underway in developing an exciting Academy structure, which is aiming to provide unrivalled coaching and support for our entire playing membership from First Team/Development squads, right the way through to our thriving Mini and Youth teams.

Last season we once again helped to develop players who attained International honours, and also helped to enhance player’s abilities as they took the next step within their careers and moved up the Football pyramid.

You will be a fully integrated member of our coaching team for our pre-season preparations helping to deliver our programme to our dedicated and ambitious players for the entire campaign. The role will require the coaching of both male and female players.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.         Coaching
o   Responsible for planning and delivering the technical and tactical coaching programme for your respective age group in line with the Academy’s ethos. Session plans for all sessions to be provided.
o   Coach and manage your respective team matches, both home and away.
o   To liaise with all key Academy personnel when planning and arranging coaching sessions and matches to ensure the appropriate support is in place (e.g. sports science, medical, recruitment, education, etc.).
o   To evaluate players learning from coaching sessions and matches.
o   To conduct group, unit and individual video analysis sessions if appropriate.
o   To appropriately use data accumulated from GPS & heart rate monitoring.
o   To be fully responsible for the safety and welfare of all players under your care.
o   To abide by Academy disciplinary processes for all player selections.

2.         Player Development and Progression
o   To compile performance reviews, in line with the Academy’s commitments to players, and deliver feedback to players and parents both formally in meetings, and informally as required.
o   To liaise on a regular basis with the Academy Directors to ensure that the needs of all players are catered for.

3.         Safeguarding
o   Monitor potential safeguarding children risks and work with the Academy Safeguarding Officer to promote safer working practice throughout the Academy.
o   Understand the Academy Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines. Use this understanding to ensure safer recruitment, safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.

4.         Talent ID and Recruitment
o   Oversee all player development and highlight players suitable for professional club trials.
o   Create opportunities for the Academy to be presented at exit trials and access to players that are released from professional clubs.

5.         Other responsibilities
o   To ensure that the Academy Directors are kept up-to-date in all matters relating to your team.
o   To attend staff meetings when required.
o   To be aware of current trends and best practice in Youth Development.
o   To continually look for ways to develop and improve our coaching programme.
o   To attend at least 5 hours of in-service training organised by the FA each year and the first aid training for Academy coaches at least once every 3 years.
o   To undertake Continued Professional Development organised by the Academy.

PERSONAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

o   Ability to plan, deliver, develop and monitor football coaching sessions.
o   Ability to effectively manage player, parent & staff relationships.
o   Ability to work independently and with internal and external teams.
o   Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, who places high value on attention to detail.
o   An ability to adapt quickly, be flexible in the face of change and solution orientated.
o   Ability to remain calm under pressure.
o   Excellent organisational and time management skills.
o   High levels of customer service; promptly respond to queries, ensure promises are kept and manage expectations.
o   Have a sympathetic yet disciplined approach
o   Create an exciting, safe and enjoyable environment.

ESSENTIALS

o   Member of FA Licensed coaches club
o   UEFA B coaching qualification ?(preferably with a desire to work towards their UEFA A qualification).
o   FA Safeguarding & FA Emergency Aid
o   Current Enhanced DBS
