What is the role?
We are currently recruiting for an Academy U18 Physiotherapist to join our leading Sports Medicine & Science team. This opportunity will include assisting in providing a first-class Physiotherapy and Injury Prevention service to all Professional Development Phase players; organising, developing and implementing the best methods of injury prevention, performance enhancement, rehabilitation, care and advice. The successful candidate will be able to actively contribute in a medical and science department that is viewed as a centre of excellence in injury and illness prevention, injury management and cutting edge medical and science research development.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for CSP/HCPC registered candidates with knowledge of injury prevention methods and recovery strategies. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills to work as part of our Sports Medicine & Science team. Previous experience working in an elite sporting environment is desirable but not essential.
5 years post grad BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy (min 2:1 qualification).
Experience in managing and co-ordinating medical staff and patient list.
Previous experience working in other sports within a multidisciplinary team/department.
Previous experience working as a physiotherapist in a professional football club and experience in working in an interdisciplinary sports science and medical team.
Completed core band 5 (junior) Physiotherapy rotations within NHS.
Experience of working as a band 6 or 7 (Senior II or I) in an out-patient department for a minimum 18 months.
Qualifications (incl. certifications)
Degree in Physiotherapy.
Advanced Trauma Training (AREA/ ATMMiF/LM Medical).
Working towards an MSc.
Kinetic Control Movement Therapist.
Extensive manual therapy skills, sports rehabilitation/knowledge in injury prevention methods and recovery strategies and knowledge of movement dysfunction analysis and experience in performance stability screening.
Extensive knowledge in injury prevention methods and recovery strategies.
Excellent communication and organisation skills.
Desire for self-improvement and continuous professional development.
Ability and enthusiasm to instruct, teach, share knowledge and be a resource for all Academy staff and members of the Sports Science and Medical Team.
Interest in contributing to current or future research projects.
